Stewart County Deputies have been vigilant and kept busy over the past weekend and Monday with 7 arrest which 5 included drug charges.
On Friday July 16th Deputy Jason Knotts responded to a suspicious vehicle on Russell Street. He found 3 individuals who had taken items from a house and was in the process of taking more items. In addition to burglary tools, the female was found to have heroin, meth, hypodermic needles containing liquid consistent with heroin and meth. Arrested were Mercedes Ray, Hetem Hassan, and Brian Wilmeth.
Deputy Aaron Taylor found a female past out in her vehicle at the Exxon Sunday night July 18th and found the driver to be in possession of 8.5 grams of meth as well as 2 baggies containing marijuana. The driver was also found to be under the influence. Arrested was Chante Ruf.
On Sunday July 18th Deputy Josh Miller during a traffic stop on Gilliam Hollow Road Deputy Miller suspected drugs, called K-9 Handler Shane Keatts which at that time deployed K-9 Stormy which she hit on the vehicle and found suboxone as well as marijuana. Arrested were Micheal Pardue and Joni Batson.
A traffic stop Monday July 19th on Hwy.79 K-9 Handler Aaron Page and K-9 Borys led to a probable cause to search the vehicle an found over 2lbs. of marijuana, a weapon and over $400.00 in cash. Arrested was Javieon Story.
