Later Thursday evening, an individual claiming to be identified as Luke Williams made a post stating, ”Help Needed!
Hey everyone I’m a professional air duct cleaner. Due to the previous situation of pandemic, my company has hit a downfall.
So we’re offering 50% OFF on our first 10 customers for the next week.
4 slots have already been filled 6 slots are left.
If you guys need air duct cleaning or you could refer it to someone you know, it’d be really helpful. Thanks”
Upon later updating the post he stated, ”P.S: Those thinking of it as a #SCAM , let me clear it that we will only take payment after the job is done and the customer is satisfied.” After an additional post was made by the attempted victim stating to the public to use caution.
Personally I looked into the profile and immediately notice that the profile has zero content (Red flag)
We’ve reached out to the individual that was almost scammed and his response when asked for details of the situation was, “Yeah it’s some middle eastern outfit. Almost had me until I looked deeper at the profile and realized it wasn’t some old Dickson dude. It had some post with a bunch of Arabic. I had a sense cause he typed daily good English but it was off for a native and then when the person called it was definitely middle eastern. I have no issue with middle eastern but when they are trying to pose as an old country white dude in their profile pic, somethings off. Wanted $199 to come out and clean my ducts. My guess, you pay em and they don’t show. Money is lost to some foreign scam artist.”
